in light of port of fuckyeahbandbuffalo having to deal with trashy anons i just wanna state to everyone here that this blog is indeed a safe space for anyone who identifies as GSRM/queer (i’m very very sorry for using that word as a cishet i mean it purely as an umbrella term for GSRMs in case there are people who don’t use that initialism) and there will be no bigotry or anti-sj of any kind tolerated here
this is a safe space and you are more than welcome to come to me triumph-forks about your problems and i will listen and provide the support you need
you are important and your voice deserves to be heard and i love you all u3u
man, this blog has been dead. what happened? how come none of you submit ideas? share some of the pit love :(
in other news how are all of you? break any expensive instruments? have awkward moments with stand partners?
wait percussionists don’t have stand partners……..
anyways i’m sitting here listening to DCI shows and getting super amped to be on staff again for this coming season! or is it too early for that? whatev.
thanks for being faithful to this blog despite its inactivity. y’all are a peach. one collective peach. big and sweet and juicy.
i know it’s the dead of winter but i just remembered this nifty tip i regret not learning until senior year!
during band camp, instead of wearing regular/sports bras, wear a bikini top. it’s not as restricting as a sports bra and unsuited for the activity as a regular underwire bra. not to mention, it’s great for spontaneous trips to the pool during your breaks!
no but in all seriousness nobody deserves boob sweat. nobody. so wearing a swimsuit top can seriously decrease that.
knowledge is power! get amped for the summer, children. band season is coming. -s
itstimeforstarlight asked: I play marimba with 5 octaves and very low hanging resonators. So in our competition two weeks ago we were at warm up and everything was going great up when we were supposed to move I had to get back on the ledge. Well my resonators drop off and bolts come loose and needless to say I could not use my own. We had to borrow a different schools marimba for my performance. I only had my mallet bag. No cymbal, no mic, no extra octave. It was hell
oh no that’s terrible!!! at the beginning of the season this year, our 5 octave kind of exploded, like there was a very rusty part of it or something that just kind of flew off and all the resonators just dropped. holy poop it was scary. i’m glad i was on staff this year or i probably would have tried (and failed) to help. i hope your marimba was repaired after the show :(
